Please note that the Herpy.nu vBulletin forums are now closed and archived - the forums have now moved to Discord.

Herpy had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the old forum design is unappealing and no longer fit for the audience of 2018. The gallery will remain operational. You can follow me on Twitter for future developments. We now have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send me a PM over Twitter.

Kind regards,
Valcyrie

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

I have a gamer from Queensland that joins in my twitch stream almost every day. It can work, just depends on schedule. Val, maybe start some sort of poll using GMT?

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Discord chat is awesome. Forum posting is fine for in between story arcs and character introductions, but for actual gameplay it would be nice to have live conversation and perhaps some sort of dicebot? I could go either way on the chat to be honest, though I feel like it would more than likely desc...

Aww, Val... You're so much cuter than that.... Probably. I mean your avatar is ridiculously better looking.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

I'm pretty sure that dragonborn aren't in 3.5 edition. They were a playable race starting in 4th edition. Unless you are looking at some sort of homebrew, the closest that 3.5 had was half-dragon which is most certainly level adjusted.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Depends on party balance and objectives. I see two spellcasters, I'm doing a melee/defendery type. I'm not sure what Xaithis is planning.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Depends on lot on the rest of the group. I for one am playing chaotic neutral. Doesn't mean I'm going to go crazy with doing whatever I want, just aware of which rules I like and which ones I don't and realizing that there's more grey to life than right and wrong.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Drow have an ECL associated and Val has forbidden them. That being said there are something like 2 dozen different elf types that don't have ECL that you could theoretically use with varying stats.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Aracth'nil, start with the 3.5 Wiki page and then do "<book title> pdf" and you can find pretty much all of them online for free. If you're new to it, I would probably focus mostly on the Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's guide. It's got all the basic classes, prestige classes, and rules you'll...

I'm okay waiting. I just hadn't heard anything either way and last I knew I was the only one to submit anything.

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

Kinda wondering if this is still happening too. I submitted my backstory and character sheet a week ago and just assumed other people were doing the same. Do we have an update on an approximate start time? Do we have a well enough rounded group to make it function?

Re: Lords & Rascals: a D&D 3.5 ed. story

The idea of appearance is an interesting one. On one hand you have the option of making a character more fleshed out, more usable for a variety of actions, and gives you a rather specific bonus skill you can try to work on if your character warrants it. If, on the other hand, you don't like the stat...
