Herpy.nu is now closed and archived - will be replaced by something new and better.

Herpy has had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the site is today unappealing and is no longer fit for the audience of 2018. The gallery will remain operational until further notice. You can follow me on Twitter for further developments. We also have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send me a PM over Twitter.

Kind regards,

Re: The Herpy caves

Sil'thaera had to chuckle at the varied personalities of the motley crew of drakes before her; they certainly were a mix!

She chuckled to herself; they could probably have quite the adventure together!

She looked around a bit more at the cave, while watching for the spelunking to begin...

Still want to read that.

Re: The Herpy caves

Sil'thaera could only chuckle at Xasin's excitement; she returned it with a quick hug and a snout-bump. "Xasin! It's been a while; I didn't know you were in the area - it's good to see you!" she grinned; she looked behind him, spotting the other dragons. She sniffed the air, and nodded to herself. "...

Re: Bibliotheca Draconis

*drools at the list* OMG you have some awesome titles on there! But I think you could add a few ;) Typing from memory so excuse me if I only list series names or a few titles. E.E. Knight's 'Age of Fire' saga is a must! The first three books are told from the viewpoint of three dragonets as they gro...

Re: The Herpy caves

(Already asked Xasin if I could join, he's cool with it ;p Now, how to introduce a naganess...) In a lake nearby the dragon cave, coiled down on the lakebed, Sil'thaera opened one blue-green-on-black eye, and yawned, tasting lake water on her tongue. She uncoiled her long, serpentine form, stretchin...

(Would anyone mind if a naganess joins in? Perhaps after Zephyr's next post?)

Re: Hybrid Species

Oooh, good topic, Mal! Well, my favourite dragon hybrid would be me, haha - a winged naga-like dragoness, hatched from a Cold Lake Serpent (classic Sea Serpent body, no limbs or wings) mother and Western Cragg Drake (classic 'western' style dragon, four limbs and wings). It's an interesting combo - ...

Vaaaal! *facepaws*

You totally misread that on purpose, didn't you? ;p

Yeah, an anole, if I spelled that right. Kinda like a lizard-gecko cross? It was cute!

Re: Best beginner lizard for a budding herpetophile?

I've seen some really adorable geckos at my local petshops, and also a basilisk lizard or two (omg I love their long toes :3).

And I think an ... Amazon's anole??? Bright green little dudes with red lines by their eyes.

I'd love to get me a beardy, but limited space.

Best beginner lizard for a budding herpetophile?

So, I've been thinking about getting a lizard of some kind to add to my little 'zoo', haha.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I've never owned a lizard, just my corn snake.

Would it better to start with one of the gecko family, or one of the larger lizards?

Any advice is welcome!

What makes Dragons so majestic? (Possibly NSFW)

Seriously, what IS it about these creatures that do captivates us? Dragons have been part of human lore, myth, legend and imagination for thousands of years, in cultures from *all over the world*. So, I'm asking all you dracophiles out there: "What makes a dragon inspire awe in you?" Now, I'm more c...
