Herpy.nu will close down in January 2018 - will be replaced by something new and better.

Herpy has had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the site is today unappealing and is no longer fit for the audience of 2018, and years of smear campaigns have given us a reputation that has been hard to shake. We therefore made the choice to close the site and move on to a brighter future. While the forums will be archived as a memory of times of past greatness, new funds have been raised and new admins have been recruited to start working on a entire new community far away from Bad Dragon and any association with that company. The gallery will remain operational in the meantime. You can follow me on Twitter for further developments. We also have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send a PM to Valcyrie.

Herpy have always been my little lovechild since I joined over a decade ago. But he grew up, and as he has aged with dignity its time for his hatchling to take over. A fresh start for a new generation in a new era.

Kind regards,

What is your favourite music?

Do you like listening to it, or do you even create it? Talk about it here!

Personally, I listen to mostly classic rock, modern rock, lighter versions of metal, some dubstep, and the occasional rap or alternative rock.

My favorite artists include: Areosmith, ACDC, Five finger death punch, rolling stones, the Beatles, some drowning pool, Black Sabbath, Breaking Benjamin , green day, three days grace, ledzeplin, journey, audio slave, and several others I don't care to remember. :P

I'll listen to most things, but I tend to enjoy rock, lighter metal and symphonic metal.

I also enjoy video game music and have been going on a chiptune binge. :p I love how the Sega Genesis sounds and what artists could do with its limited tools.

Knuckles Chaotix's Midnight Greenhouse is one of the smoothest songs on the system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTH_BDTPAJk

Sonic 3D Blast's Volcano Valley 2 is right up there even without the extra sound channels provided by the 32X: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MrP51YTWak

I mainly prefer metal, although I do sometimes dip into oldies or sometimes even classical at times.

It's hard to trace a definite genre that I prefer, but... here, artists you'll often see me listening to: Amaranthe, Three Days Grace, Evanescence sometimes, video game music(mostly Pokémon and Monster Hunter, with some Sonic on the side), various electronic stuff but mostly S3RL... hmm. I am not fond of classical music at all, the only exception being... Moonlight Sonata.

Really, I just listen to whatever pleases my ears and mind. I don't pick according to artists or genres.

I do enjoy listening to modern stuff like rock and metal on occasion but orchestral, new-age and epic are genres that speak to my "soule". (Pun intended.)

I've seen a lot of posts here saying people like metal, and I can agree there, though my taste is a bit more old school. My favourite band is Iron Maiden.

I've got some suggestions here for other people that like metal:
Iron Savior
Yngwie Malmsteen(very symphonic)
Alestorm(pirate metal)
And lastly, Pantera.

If you really enjoy metal you will probably already know a few of them. If you don't know them I would really suggest checking them out.
The truth of a thing is never as interesting as the mystery preceding the revelation.

Glad to see Old Graves on here, great artist. Another song by them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cg9y5CaqLTE

Here's three albums I've been listening to a lot recently:

Amesoeurs - Amesoeurs (2009)
A mix of post black metal and shoegaze

Lurker Of Chalice - Lurker Of Chalice (2005)
Atmospheric black metal and dark ambient

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds (1978)
Not an "album" as such but it's still worth posting.
Aim high in life, but watch out for flying boxes.

I like metal, a little bit of everything is nice but death metal is one of my top genres.

Just going to get right to the point, I love all rock but I also like Eminem and j cole.
,bands like 30 seconds to mars and nine inch nails are the kind of music that's on my mp3 player .
But my absolute favorites are David Bowie and Queen but isn't it such a shame that Freddy Mercury and David Bowie are dead . :(
