Dragons in flight

Post by Zaktan » July 6th, 2016, 4:16 am

Welp, might as well start off this board, surely the most popular of the lot.

To all you winged dergs out there, what's the best part of flying?
To me, the wind in your face and the sheer height. It gets your adrenaline pumping whilst you glide majestically across the surreal, alien landscapes of the many clouds, in addition to the feeling of freedom one experiences.

For my mate it's the feeling of air on her chest. By her words "like an invisible hand holding me in the air".

have to agree with flying and feeling the wind on my scales or swooping down and just draw your claws and land perfectly in the ground.

"Takeoff is dangerous, flight is wonderful, landing is difficult"
I think flight, as a process, brings a lot of interesting moments that are quite difficult to list. As for me... well... I could say - gliding above something, like, above trees, lakes, mountains, cities... Looking at everything. Feeling the air flowing on the wings. Yes, I think it's wonderful.

I like to imagine going into freefall high up in the sky before spreading wings and catching myself shortly before the ground.

I also like that flying enables dragons to travel long distances so quickly. It's enjoyable to imagine dragons being able to visit many different regions or cities at a whim.

The wind on the face, the rushing air over the wings, the landscape sprawling below where the world seems so open, the thrill of diving and pulling out near the ground, your shadow flying across the landscape as the world rushes past and as people go about their daily mundane lives... that's flying.
People are like dragons. They can be dangerous, but they can be friendly. But whatever you are, take flight into the blue abyss of endless possibility!

To me it's the mostly the feeling of freedom that moving around in a truly 3 dimensional world. To easily ascend to the clouds and locations at great heights and like others have said, the feel of the wind rushing over the body.

For me it would be flying at the edge of skyline. Watching the world be so distant and away. True feeling of freedom. Preferably with my mate. Also freefalling from such hights surely feels amazing, doesn't it?

Also I'm a great fan of scenery, so there's that.
