Herpy.nu is now closed and archived - will be replaced by something new and better.

Herpy has had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the site is today unappealing and is no longer fit for the audience of 2018. The gallery will remain operational until further notice. You can follow me on Twitter for further developments. We also have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send me a PM over Twitter.

Does it have a nice murals in it?
Is it filled with sculptures of dragonesses in various seductive poses?
If so, I'm game.

Yeah, I've noticed... And though I personally don't mind, the High Authorities of this forum might see it otherwise, and I wouldn't want to get on their bad side...

Well, getting back on topic, I honestly see dragons as being very intelligent creatures. Sure, there may be some animalistic instinct buried in there somewhere, but for the most part I think of them as equal or greater than human intelligence. So I doubt a "pet" dragon would actually be considered a pet, and would more likely be a friend. But depending on size that could be very difficult, human buildings are not really meant to house something larger than an elephant. But with smaller sizes it could be a more reasonable situation to have a dragon living in your house.

I would think it would be more of a buddy... would be hapoy to go weeks with it to places never heard of, snuggling under a warm wing beside it... I smile just thinking about it.

That would be nice.

If i had a pet dragon i would care for it but yeah like others said it would be a big problem if it grew big like the ones in Game of thrones and starting to eat cows or burning innocent people and o boy the food costs alone would bankrupt me. And yeah i see dragons also as intelligent beings so yeah it probly be more like a buddy.

In my world view, a dragon is a sentient and intelligent creature so I could never keep it as a pet.

I would have a dragon as a companion, but never as a pet.

If you would have a dragon as a pet or companion or anything, then I suggest people to keep it very well hidden... A dragon would draw a lot of attention from thrill seekers, scientists and less pleasant people. Governments would try to steal it and examine and experiment on it. But, as a dragon grows, it becomes harder and harder to keep it hidden, even if the dragon is self consious and just as intelligent as a human. I would go to the least densely populated area on earth, there you might have a chance of keeping it.
