Herpy.nu is now closed and archived - will be replaced by something new and better.

Herpy has had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the site is today unappealing and is no longer fit for the audience of 2018. The gallery will remain operational until further notice. You can follow me on Twitter for further developments. We also have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send me a PM over Twitter.

Kind regards,
Valcyrie

Post by Valcyrie » July 6th, 2016, 4:29 am

Working servers and domain
A new forum, phpBB
A better theme for the forum - will be fixed pretty soon

Proper and customizable user profiles
The Gallery

What we are working on to fix:
Minor tweaks for better functions and ethetics.

Rest assured, we're working on it!

Silverdragancolonel, just use an image editing tool to rescale the pictures a bit. Should be done rather easily so don't worry :)

Also, thank you a lot for your work, Valcyrie ...
To be quite honest, the current style of the forums, although not really herpy-style, is still pretty alright, so we don't need to worry too much about changing it ... But that's just my opinion ^^

And as a quick tip:
For something VERY newsfeed-like, use "Quick links" -> "New posts"
That worked rather well for me :D

Speak for yourself, Xasin, this vampire ness is longing for a darker theme on her poor eyes! XD

But in all seriousness, this really is starting to take shape as our, Herpy's residents', refuge. Good work, Val.

Just a sidenote... if you want to see what was on the herpy mainpage, you can check on 'The Wayback Machine' and put in the old url. Also we are missing a video section. Thanks for te work though!

Just a suggestion, and I am not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but should we make a Development section and Help section?

Good job to all those here involved, and let's have (at least) another 10 years of Herpy!

I like the darker theme, but it's a little green. I personally don't like that color, but that is just me. So, great that work is being done. At least it's easy to see what you are done.

The thought of it was to be green bcause, you know, reptiles. We used to be dark green / grey before we were taken down as well.

Maybe when the more important stuff is out of the way, we can get the option of choosing from several themes?

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee
I like the new theme! Looks more ... Developed than the former one :3
I'll need to look around a bit for all those fancy buttons I've grown accustomed to, but I think this is a great new look :3

I think the new theme is great! A darker background is much easier on the eyes, and the greenish gray colour is nicely similar to the old forums but with a new and fresh twist as well!
