Herpy.nu is now closed and archived - will be replaced by something new and better.

Herpy has had a good 13 year run and will never be forgotten for those of us who experienced it. Sadly the site is today unappealing and is no longer fit for the audience of 2018. The gallery will remain operational until further notice. You can follow me on Twitter for further developments. We also have a Discord server which has become the heart of the community. If you wish to join it, send me a PM over Twitter.

Kind regards,

Latest post of the previous page:

I think the new theme is great! A darker background is much easier on the eyes, and the greenish gray colour is nicely similar to the old forums but with a new and fresh twist as well!

Yes, this is what the old Herpy could have become, had Varka not been a [insert worst derogatory term you know of here]!

The color palette does make clearing out notifications tricky considering the dimming of an already dim background, but otherwise, it looks very clean, professional, and useful when the only light in the room comes from your electronic device.
Within thyself is the potential for many great and miraculous things.
You just need to take the time to discover how to perform them.

I agree - if you have it on a low brightness or on low contrast, the text hardly stands out from the green background, especially the green profile names. Can we consider changing it to a slightly lighter colour?

I thought dragons see blue/red more rather than green.

To find that out, have a look at some of the older posts from July in the intro section and lounge. It's been answered quite a few times, but basically it wss for corporate reasons as far as I understand.

I think it'd be great if our profiles could be more customised. For example, in IP Board software you can have interests, about me, gender, images, last user visit, other links or places of interest etc. Some sites even allow for a custom profile background. I also like the idea of user based statistics such as profile views, last online and content links.

Thanks,

- Matt
