Latest post of the previous page:

Suggestion: Make the user be able to change between themes.
+ I also think there's an addon so you can change the language of the forum board too. Would be neat
+ Add a link to the gallery in the header, next to the Forums and Members buttons. Opening the gallery in a new tab would also be good

*edit*: I just realised that this thread might not have been the best one to write suggestions in.

*edit 2*: The gallery is messy/confusing imo, the same color tone + the huge amount of headers, text boxes and images makes it very cluttered. Letting the user choose a custom theme there too would be awesome, or an option to not have the page in full-width

Originally we were going to continue with the old 4images software but considering the significant problems we were having with it from 2014 to 2016 at the old Bad Dragon site, coupled with compatibility issues at the new hosting company, meant that an alternative was necessary.

Coppermine proved to be the only multimedia gallery evaluated that allowed for all of the features Val wanted, in addition to the upload of video material. I've tried to "tweak" the gallery to make it as user friendly as possible, for example by having the most popular categories (dragons, videos) near the top and by combining categories where possible. Coppermine has proven to be far more responsive and stable than 4images, and the mass upload feature has allowed for the gallery to be restored faster than was expected.

If there are any suggestions to improve the gallery, we will most certainly investigate their feasibility.

Since I was asked about earlier in this thread, I occasionally do some things behind the scenes but my rank here is mostly for historical/honorary purposes. For all intents and purposes, Val was meant to be my "heir" and the new Herpy is 100% her thing and she's done a pretty good job considering the hand she ended up getting dealt. Or not dealt, depending upon how you look at it.

Several years ago I became ill and was in and out of both work as well as places to live. I did not have a stable home life and I was not able to run Herpy, and it was a difficult decision but ultimately I knew that stepping down and letting Val take the helm was the right thing to do for the community.
