Wish I'd been been able to save mine. Lot of memories from that thread I made.

Yeah I kinda miss my old Art thread... Although the fact I spelled the title of it wrong was a constant annoyance! I used to enjoy reading it from the beginning and noting how much I progressed as an artist, I still have most of the images but it was nice to look back at other peoples opinions and involvement in the thread. The movie poster game was fun too!

I must add that there was also a couple of things that I had plans on doing just before the site shut down. The first was a blog that was to be posted on June 21 marking one year since I became a member, the second was a thread showing off projects and repairs to things that I was going to put in the Art and tutorials section. sadly just 2 days after making those plans the site closed.

Well you can still add that thread if you want to... There's even some new sections for craftsmanship and the like in the new forum. And the blog section has been recently installed. Doesn't have the time stamp but at least you can write one.

We did the best we could salvaging Herpy "1.0" considering we had literally zero advance notice. It's a bummer that not everything survived the fire, but it's important to keep in mind that everyone is entirely capable of making new meaningful memories right here, right now.

An enlightening non-shitpost from me, just to keep everyone in check.

And I know Val has mentioned it a few times, but the library is saved - backups of the gallery do exist. So don't feel too sad.

Killer, I dug up the "main" set that we had but I'll download this when I get home and check it out. Thanks! <3

Many artists may have backups of their original artworks stored on their PC's or some other media (pen dries or external hard discs) or online or even in physical form on paper , a large number of images that were on the Herpy gallery also appear on sites such as e621 for example.

This also reminds me of a post that I left in the thread on the old site about downloading artwork for offline viewing in case the account assoiciated with the images goes down or even the whole site if the images were only posted on that site,
I have a number of pictures saved that this has happened to.

I also have the original Herpy title banner and have put it as an attachment if any staff want to add it to this site, not sure if anyone else has it but anyway.

Thank you for the logo. I used to have the .FLA file saved on my HDD but I think it was on the drive of mine that unfortunately died. I will see about adjusting this one as needed (if needed), or blowing it up and re-vectorizing it for use on this new site.
